If you have decided that MySingleFriend is no longer for you, you can permanently delete your account at any time. Please note that this action is irreversible — once deleted, all of your profile information, video clips, and match history will be removed and cannot be recovered. This includes any videos you have recorded asking questions, as well as any videos you have submitted answering someone else's questions.
If you'd like your videos to remain on the app, consider switching to a Friend account instead. As a Friend, your recorded clips will be saved as drafts, and any questions you asked for a friend, will remain visible to help them, though your videos won't be visible to other users, as Friends are not active daters on the platform.
Open the app and ensure you are logged in.
Tap Settings.
Select Help & Support.
Tap Delete Account.
Follow the on-screen confirmation prompts to complete the process.
If you change your mind, simply close the app at the confirmation step, and your account will remain active.
What is deleted
When you delete your account we permanently remove:
- Your profile (name, age, photos, bio, location, preferences)
- All video clips — questions you've recorded and answers you've submitted
- All matches, likes, and chat messages
- Your friend connections and any pending friend requests
- Your authentication record (phone number)
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers
What is retained, and for how long
Some data is kept for a limited period for legal, fraud-prevention and safety reasons:
- Reports made against your account — retained for up to 12 months so we can investigate safety patterns, then anonymised.
- Transaction and subscription records — retained for up to 7 years to meet UK accounting and tax (HMRC) obligations.
- Encrypted database backups — rotated on a 30-day cycle; deleted data is fully purged from backups within 30 days.
- Aggregated/anonymous analytics — retained indefinitely but contain no personal identifiers.
Can't access the app?
If you no longer have the app or access to your phone number, email [email protected] from the email on file (or include enough info to identify your account). We'll verify your identity and complete deletion within 30 days.
